Autism and Sex Work
As an autistic sex worker, I've often found myself navigating a complex web of expectations and client needs. In an industry where emotional labor and people-pleasing are often seen as essential, being autistic can be a unique challenge in this industry. Let's talk about that.
The Value of Autistic Bluntness
If you have messaged me before for a booking. You may have noticed that I interact with clients in a firm and quite direct manner. I have been told that I text like I'm “cold” and “clinical”. This isn't because I'm unfriendly or uncaring. It's because, as an autistic person. I just have a unique communication style. I've learned that beating around the bush is just frustrating. Instead, I prioritise clarity, good process and honesty, even if it means being blunt.
It helps me avoid miscommunications that can arise from neurotypical assumptions about social cues. It also allows me to set clear boundaries and expectations, which is essential for maintaining healthy and respectful interactions. More important than anything is it helps me conserve my social batter and energy on providing the best possible experience for my clients.
Misunderstood
Many clients who make it through the booking process have learnt that while blunt and quite clinical in my messages. When they arrive to the appointment they are shocked to find a warm, cosy and caring environment where comfort and pleasure meet. They get to see the real me in person where I shine and work my magic. Everything about my work I have a deep connection with. I create the ultimate experience and I am really passionate about constantly improving it to fit my clients needs. Clients just like you have had these expectations about my bluntness and were proven that you cannot judge a person by their communication style. You can check out my reviews if you are curious what I am like in person.
Accommodations for Clients
As someone who's experienced the world through an autistic lens, I'm deeply aware of the importance of creating a welcoming and accommodating environment for neurodivergent clients. Here are some ways I strive to do just that:
Clear communication: I'll always be direct and explicit in our interactions, avoiding ambiguous language or assumptions.
Sensory accommodations: If you have specific sensory needs or preferences, I'll do my best to accommodate them. This might include adjusting lighting, sound levels, or even providing a specific type of stimulation. If you have a specific massage product you prefer. Let me know and I'll try and get it before our session!
Routine and structure: I understand the comfort and security that comes with routine and structure. If you have specific needs or rituals, I'll work with you to incorporate them into our sessions.
No small talk: If you're not comfortable with small talk or social niceties, we can skip them altogether and focus on the experience at hand. Just let me know when you book in and I'll create a peaceful environment for you.
What this all means
As an autistic sex worker, I'm committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for all clients, regardless of their neurodiverse status. I believe that everyone deserves respect, understanding, and accommodation. Being autistic myself means I can create an environment for you that fits your needs and complexities.
